School Readiness Program (SRP)

The CIDS School Readiness Program is part of the Chemung County School Readiness Project, an initiative dedicated to helping children enter school socially, cognitively, physically, and emotionally ready to learn. Through this program, we partner with families to support children’s growth and development from infancy through the preschool years, helping every child build a strong and confident start.

Child Playing Blocks

Through quarterly home visits, CIDS Home Visiting professionals offer developmental screenings, engaging activities, and guidance tailored to each family’s needs. Families receive support on a wide range of topics, including nutrition, early literacy, child development, and positive behavior. Home visitors also help connect families to community resources and services when needed. By building strong, trusting relationships, the program provides ongoing encouragement and support as children develop the skills they need to prepare them for their time in school.
