The Economic Opportunity Program (EOP) is a Community Action Agency serving Chemung and Schuyler Counties. With programs such as Head Start, Literacy Volunteers, The Ernie Davis Community Center, and OPWDD we are sure there is something EOP can do for you. 

a private not-for-profit resource and referral agency which, through it’s leadership, actively promotes affordable, accessible, available, quality child care programs for children by means of it’s advocacy, education and coordination efforts. The vision of the Child Care Council is “Universal Quality Child Care”. The Child Care Council provides services for Parents, Child Care Providers/Programs & Community/Employers.

In the Food Bank's six-county service area, over 50% of children are eligible for free and reduced-priced meals at school. With the school year ending, many children in the Southern Tier who rely on these meals will soon be without access to in-school meal service for the summer.This is where the Summer Food Service Program steps in to the help fill this gap. Children and teens 18 years and under are welcome at open meal sites and can eat a free, nutritious meal or snack. There is no registration or paperwork required. 

Help starts with 211. The 2-1-1 HELPLINE is your direct connection to every program and services in Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, Allegany, and Yates Counties. Simply dial 211 on any phone and speak with a trained information and referral specialist. If you need help and don't know where to turn, 211 should be your first call. All of their calls are free and confidential. 

ROR is an American nonprofit organization that advocates for childhood literacy. ROR was founded in 1989 at Boston City Hospital, and was based on the premise to "encourage parents to read regularly to their children and give them the tools (the books) to do so." The Program was created as a solution to the growing literacy problem in the United States. 

Family Education is a site that offers free resources for parents of children at all ages. This link takes you to the "Adjusting to New Motherhood" section of the website. Here you will be able to hind helpful tips on "Bonding with Your Newborn", dealing with "Lack of Sleep", and even tips for new dads! 

It’s always best to stock the pantry in the case of emergencies.
